Meet Our Staff

Pawel Kurylo, MD
Medical Director

Dr. Pawel Kurylo joined Families, Inc. Counseling Services in January 2018 as a Staff Psychiatrist and was promoted to Medical Director in September 2025.

Dr. Kurylo earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2007, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He went on to complete both his internship and residency in Psychiatry at UAMS.

Before joining Families, Inc., Dr. Kurylo served as a Staff Psychiatrist and later as Associate Director of Telemental Health with the Central Arkansas Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. In these roles, he was responsible for diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, education, and developing innovative approaches to telemental health for rural communities.

As Medical Director of Families, Inc., Dr. Kurylo directs and coordinates all medical services provided by the agency, while supervising psychiatrists, physicians, and other psychiatric professionals. He monitors the quality and appropriateness of medical care, provides guidance for clinical performance standards and prescribing practices, and leads clinical peer review and performance improvement initiatives. In addition, he manages physician relations and recruitment, represents Families, Inc. in community relations, offers guidance on emergency issues, and collaborates closely with the Quality Improvement Team to establish best practices and ensure compliance.

Dr. Kurylo is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds an active Arkansas medical license. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Arkansas Psychiatric Society.

Originally from Poland, Dr. Kurylo has lived in the United States since 1985.  He resides in Jonesboro with his wife and children as well as his pets.  When not working, he enjoys cooking, fishing, music, and spending time with his family.
