Dr. John Allen Burnett joined Families, Inc. as a staff psychiatrist in July, 2015. He was named Medical Director on August 8, 2016. Dr. Burnett is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Burnett was born and raised in Batesville, Arkansas. He received his undergraduate degree from Arkansas State University. He went on to obtain his medical degree and complete a residency program in Psychiatry at UAMS. He previously practiced as a psychiatrist and medical director in the Behavioral Health Department of St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He is currently a member of the American Psychiatry Association, Arkansas Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
In addition to seeing patients of his own, he is responsible for supervising all medical staff and daily clinical operations. He is also serves as a member of the Quality Improvement Team at Families which is tasked with monitoring and assessing individual and organizational performance and to implement processes that promote the highest quality of mental health service delivery. Dr. Burnett serves clients onsite at the Osceola, Trumann and Walnut Ridge Clinic’s with one day a week in Jonesboro.
In his leisure, Dr. Burnett enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, fishing, and hunting.
