Arif Mirza, MD, is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Dr. Mirza joined Families, Inc. in November 2019 and be providies psychiatric services via telemedicine in our Searcy Clinic. In addition, he serves as the Pediatric Psychiatrist and Medical Director of Germantown Private Psychiatry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Mirza has expertise in diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders in acute, residential, ambulatory and telehealth settings.
Dr. Mirza received his medical education from University of Karachi Faculty of Medicine along with internships in Diagnostic Radiology and Neurology. He received his psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. He then completed an additional two year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine/St. Louis Children's Hospital/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. During his senior year of fellowship, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Dr. Mirza has been associated with medical research in the area of suicide, depression, addiction psychiatry, medical detox and neuroimaging for development disorders in early childhood (e.g. Autism) and Brain mapping scans for childhood and Adult ADHD/ADD.
