The Ash Flat Outpatient Clinic opened in February 2008 after a tornado destroyed the clinic in Highland that had been open since fall 2001. The clinical staff are supervised by Shawn Dennis, LCSW.
Services provided include qualified behavioral health provider intervention, psychological testing (internal clients only), psychiatric evaluation and medication management, screening and assessment, play therapy, school-based services and education and training for mental health providers. Such services are provided for individuals and groups as well as marital and family counseling for children, adolescents, and adults.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Dustin Timmons, serves the Ash Flat clinic as well as the Southside School District.
The Ash Flat clinic is recognized as an approved site through the National Health Services Corps. (NHSC), as well as the Southside Elementary School. NHSC site application has been submitted by Families, Inc. for review and approval for Southside Elementary. This means two very important things. First, clients who are seeking services but do not have the ability to pay for services can apply for our Sliding Fee Scale to access services. Sliding Fee Scale Applications are available at each approved site. Discounted/Sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income pending application approval. No one will be denied access to services based on inability to pay. Second, professionals who are able to practice independently (APRN, LCSW, LPC and MD) can apply through the NHSC website to have their student loans repaid in exchange for working at our Ash Flat clinic or Southside Elementary.
