Dr. Mark Cates joined the Families Inc. staff in October, 2008, after 14 years with the Child & Youth Development Center in Jonesboro.

Dr. Cates received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, CA in 1994. His areas of expertise include psychological evaluations, learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety, and Logotherapy. In the past he has worked with the East Arkansas Regional Mental Health Center as a psychological examiner, the Fresno Unified School District as a therapist and as a consulting psychologist for Counseling Consultants in Forrest City, AR.

In his spare time Dr. Cates enjoys working with Fisher Street United Methodist Church and helping with their summer feeding program. He also enjoys researching railroad history and model railroads. Dr. Cates and his wife Jennifer have two labs, Lucky and Trumann, and two cats, Sam and Heidi. He is affiliated with the Healthcare Medical Group (HMG).
