Dr. Elmo Diaz joined Families, Inc. in August of 2003, moving to Jonesboro from Puerto Rico.  In addition to serving as a psychiatrist, he also serves as Medical Director. of Famlies, Inc.

Dr. Diaz has experience in inpatient, outpatient and private practice settings.  This included serving as consultant at an outpatient Drug Treatment Program and Male Residential program. 

He received his B.S. in Pre-Medicine from the College of Agricultural and Mechanical Arts in Puerto Rico, graduate training from CETEC University in the Dominican Republic, and his M.D. from the Nordestana University, also in the Dominican Republic.  His internship and residency  were completed at Mount Sinai Services at Elmhurst City Hospital, Elmhurst, New York Department of Psychiatry where he received the Resident Achievement Award.  He received the Extra Mile Award at Metropolitan Correctional Center.

Dr. Diaz and his wife, Maria, have two daughters, Stephanie and Mariel.

He currently serves the Jonesboro and Osceola outpatient clinics and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
